Obviously, as soon as I posted last night, I immediately thought of about a hundred more onscreen examples of chemistry! So, here are a few more for your delectation 🙂
Oh, how I loved the boys’ own adventure that was Hornblower! This is probably what gave me my first crush on Paul McGann and Ioan Gruffudd. And when Jamie Bamber was chucked into the mix, wow, talk about homoeroticism! Lietenant Buckland sums it up beautifully in the episode ‘Retribution’ when he says to Bush ‘you’re so full of yourselves…and of each other.’ These three boys, in any combination, are the hottest of compounds, and I have no doubt that the three very talented actors knew it.
And if you want my 200 word response to a certain infamous naked hosing scene, here it is 😉
Having watched the original Battlestar Galactica as a kid, I did wonder how the reboot would match up. Then I saw Jamie Bamber and Katee Sackhoff on screen and fell in love. Starbuck and Apollo had such a complex, intense, issue driven relationship, and Katee and Jamie played it so beautifully; literally not pulling any punches. Gorgeous! I know the show might not have ended well (I’ve not actually seen past series 3), but what I saw, I adored.
Patrick Dempsey and Amy Adams made my heart soar in Enchanted, for a number of reasons (not least because it is a Disney film with a princess in it that I can actually tolerate!). Their beautiful onscreen partnership captivates children and adults alike, and their dance scene was stunning. Gorgeous!
And finally, for the moment at least, I’ll sign off with another of James Spader’s roles – as a certain Mr. Grey. E. Edward Grey, that is. Secretary is a deliciously naughty, hugely touching romance with a BDSM twist. There are so many amazing moments between Spader’s Grey and the beautiful Maggie Gyllenhaal’s Lee Holloway, that I couldn’t help but love it.
Phew! Hope you all enjoyed those ;).
